Immigration Deferred Action DAPA News:

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals has scheduled a court hearing on April 17, regarding the Government’s request to stop the Injunction against President Obama’s Executive Actions.

Judge Hanen in Texas issued an Injunction in February, which means that the Government is not allowed implement DAPA while the Injunction is in place.  The Government has asked the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals to “stay” the Injunction.

If the Fifth Circuit grants the Stay, then the Injunction will be lifted and the Government could then proceed with DAPA and Extended DACA under President Obama’s Executive Actions which were announced on November 20, 2014.

At the hearing on April 17, the Court will hear oral arguments from each side. Each side will have one hour each to present its case.  However, the Court will not make a decision that day.  It is unknown when the Court will issue its decision in this historic case, but it could take at least a month.
